Plenty of power, battery life is fair
I bought this on sale a few months back and finally got a chance to put it to some real use this past weekend. Using a grinding wheel, it worked well for smoothing out welds. Lucky I had 2 batteries, because it poops out fairly quickly. It does not slow down, just stops and starts when the battery gets low. Sorry I didn't time the battery life. I was pushing fairly hard on it (same as I would a plug in grinder of the same size) and it maybe lasted 3-5 minutes? I am happy with it, as I can carry it with me it the truck and know the Lit-Ion batteries will not be depleated when it sits unused for a few months.

Best Jigsaw!
This Jigsaw is better than best! I went from an older Craftsman vs jigsaw to this Bosch and quite frankly there is no contest. In the past, I've tried different blades with the Craftsman for different puropses (woods) thinking it may be the choice of blade which made my saw bounce, shatter, etc. At times almost impossible to hold, maybe wrong speed? Needless to say, using the old saw was a chore. With this Bosch and Progressor wood blades, I cut through ALL woods simply and easily. I laminate paddles with different woods, then shape them. Cutting the paddle shape through the various woods and thicknesses, maple, pine, mahogany, fir, balsa, koa, etc is a pleasure. I've even used it to rough cut the shaft out of a 2x6 without any problem. No need to switch out blades and my tasks are done quickly and easily. A time saver to say the least. Fast and free shipping. What more could one ask for? Highly recommended!

this thing stinks!!
This is a great jigsaw except for one little, minor detail, its impossible to change the blade! Other than that, its the cats ass! Buy American, that's what I plan on doing. Hell, buy Chinese, it does not matter really. Anything but this ill designed thing. Bosch should be ashamed of themselves for this piece of crap.

This thing is great!
First bought the equivilent DeWalt jig saw. After the blades would not seat properly I took it back and purchased the Bosch. Blades click right in and seat firmly so there is no fore/aft or lateral movement whatsoever. I have used a few other jig saws, and this one outperforms them all. I highly recomment it.

Great saw.
This unit is a huge upgrade. I've owned a Hitachi, Porter Cable, and Freud and this by far is a superior saw.

great saw
I bought a new Bosch 1590ESV jig saw a few weeks ago(got mine on E-bay). I'm extreamly satisfied. Lots of power. With so many blade choices available, this may become my go-to saw. If you want to spend the $ to get a real good saw, I would recommend this one or the Milwaukee. I guess its one of those "you get what you pay for" things.

Works As Advertised!!
I had a bunch of 'weeds' in my back yard that grew to small tree size over time. My hand saw and my muscles were not up to the task and I needed some power to assist me. My local hardware store tried to sell me a small chain saw but that scared me off and after some research, I chose this tool.

Thanks to Amazon Prime, it arrived in 2 days and I went to work. I cut down thick and thin branches and even some small tree trunks. After 90 minutes, I filled three large contractor bags with branches of all sizes and removed the offending trees to the delight of my wife.

You need a little force to control the saw's vibrations at times but it works great.

Some people commented about fitting the blade but I found it very easy, though the instructions could be a little clearer.

This device is GREAT and I highly recommend it.

For small jobs
This was okay for a small job. The blade dulled very quickly. Having a difficult time finding a replacement blade.

100s of uses
I'm 73 and needed a lightweight saw, and this one works perfectly. When a chain saw is overkill, this one is perfect for cutting small limbs. Also great for cutting 2x4s etc. I have recommended this saw to everyone.

Used once
Not reliable. I used it once to prune small branches from trees and it did okay. I packed it away and two months later the blade would not click back in to the saw. It's useless.

Typcial Homeowner -
I am a typical homeowner that would like to do a few small projects and does not want to own alot of tools. This tool appeared to be a perfect one for me. Based on my research, I truly felt prior to buying this that I would be able to do a greater number of small projects around the house and do them quickly. The tool is a good weight and the blades are extra large. Nice.

But... I spent two hours and could not get the blades to attach to the saw. I even took the saw to the Home Depot tool department and they as well could not attach the blades. My rating of one star is because I was not able to use the product due to the blade design.

better than I was expecting.
I have to admit, I am a Black and Decker fan. I tend to buy B&D tools more so than any other brand. However, I am not oblivious to the level of quality, (or lack there of), that some of there tools have. I try to always remember what and who the B&D line is made for. They are made for the homeowner/hobbyist, not the contractor. Keeping that in mind the B&D band saw is a decent product. In fact, after reading the reviews for it, I half expected some heap of junk to end up on my doorstep after it had been dragged behind the UPS truck by a nylon rope. I guess I need to keep in mind that most reviews are written with a bias in one direction or the other about the brand instead of the individual product that is being reviewed. This product is right in line with the quality of other B&D tools. In the picture you will see there is an orange side and a black side of this tool. The black side or back of the band saw is made of some sort of metal. I think maybe steel. I hesitate to call it iron, I don't think its heavy enough for that, thou I could be wrong. The front panel or the orange side is just a plastic case. When I open mine and then try to close it, I have to pull the bottom side forward and slide my hand along the bottom edge with pressure to get it to fit over the back metal panel. If I don't the case just hangs open about 2 inches. I don't know if this is just my unit or if this is something that others would have issues with as well. It doesn't affect the operation of the unit so I guess its more cosmetic than anything else. If the front panel was made of a less flexible plastic, that would help the situation. The table is made of aluminum and not cast iron and does need great care in the initial set up in order to get it properly leveled and aligned with the blade. This unit does not come with a fence but does come with a miter guage. I was able to resaw some construction grade 2x4s. Just take it slow. One more thing, there is no tension guage so you have to use the pluck and listen method to get your blade tension set up. I feel that for around 0 the B&D band saw is right in line with the quality where one at this price range should be at. If your a weekend warrior and your not resawing tree stumps, this should meet your needs.

Happy with minimal invested
My new saw arrived today and with minimal assembly I had it cutting wood within an hour. It needed the guides and belt tension adjusted but it came with very clear instruction and only took a few minutes. I like the table tilt mechanism a lot more than I anticipated. It has very little vibration and cuts very cleanly. It's not a top quality band saw but for less than a hundred dollars to my door it appears I will easily get my moneys worth.

Great little band saw
I was a bit leery of this saw after reading the negative reviews from some, but it appeared well made so I bought one. I've had no trouble with the little saw. I put on a metal cutting blade and it easily cut through aluminum angles, channel and rectangular tubing up to 1/8" thick. I suspect performance problems in negative reviews might be from inadequate setup. I took the time to very carefully set up and align the parts as prescribed in the very good manual. I had to use all three of my old feeler gauges for the setup but once done, it worked very well. Also, I patiently cut the aluminum without forcing which took a bit longer.

I have but two minor complaints: It was not possible to perfectly center the blade on the rubber of both wheels so I compromised the alignment and it worked well. The other complaint is that I found it nearly impossible to find vacuum hoses that would fit any small shop vac AND the vacuum port on the saw so I had to use a reinforced coupling to do the job. That makes for virtually no cleanup. The line laser is a neat addition too.

Good quality and good stuff
We ordered this item to cut curved objects and even after a year the Band Saw works well and is very useful to us.
A thinner blade is required to make very fine and curved cuts but the blades are inexpensive and cost to . It is also very easy and safe to use.

Jet 14" Bandsaw review
For the small amount of time that I have owned this product I have enjoyed it quite well. Set-up was easy and the instructions were easy to follow. However, because the tires that the blade runs on are concave and not flat, I cannot use a 1/8" scroll blade on the machine as the blade will travel to either one side or the other of the wheel and then come off. But other than that I am happy with the product.

Good value, easy set up.
This unit is shipped in two carton; base unit and upper saw unit. All parts necessary for assembly were in the box. The assembly and alignment instructions were clear and well written. Total set up time from cutting open the box to cutting the first board was under an hour. Note that it does take two people to handle the upper saw unit safely.
The machine was aligned right "out of the box." The only adjustment I had to make was to the table stop, and that is because you have to install the stop with the table off and adjust it after the table is on. Three tries and it was right on the money. The blade was pre-installed, tensioned, and the tracking was dead center. All I had left to do was hook it up my dust collector, plug it in and start cutting.
Overall the fit and finish was very good. Note that some of the mounting points were a bit difficult to get the bolt or knob snugged down without applying a lot of effort. This seems to be due to paint fouling the threads. Also, you will need metric tools to do the assembly.
For a machine in this price range I think it's a good value.

Dust collection usless
I bought this bandsaw through Woodcraft. At the time it was 9.99 with free shipping, .00 rebate AND free miter gauge and fence. A great deal I figured.
This saw has quickly become one of my shops most valued tool. It performs flawlessly and it's a pleasure to use. Most of my sawing is for resawing Cherry 5/4 into veneer. I want to stretch the cherry wood I had milled four years ago from trees that were cut on my property. It does the job perfectly for that.
I only have two beefs with Jet. One, is the 4 inch dust collection outlets is absolutely useless. It's on the side above where dust wants to settle therefore most of my dust is either on top of the cast iron bed or slips through the bottom where the door opens to alloy you to change blades. It's either that or my Jet dust collector is crap. The latter is not the case because that works great for my other tools in removing dust and chips in my shop.
The other complaint is the jet blade that comes with the saw. Junk, junk, junk. Throw it away before you make your first cut. I ordered and installed an Olson blade and man, what a huge difference and they are inexpensive too. I can't imagine what an expensive blade would do.
Anyway, if you're thinking of buying it just do it. Your gonna love it.

still working strong
I have had the Jet bandsaw for over a year. I have used to resaw 2x4 pine boards to build a fence. It has done well to resaw hardwoods such a oak and birch. It has all the power needed to resaw a 6" oak board. I also make boxes which I cut curves in a 6" thick piece of hardwood with no problems. I would recommend spending the extra money to get the 1 hp motor instead of the 3/4 hp. The guides adjust quickly and the blade tracks well. The only problem I have had is the blade tensioner broke after approximately 6 months. Jet quickly sent a new part and it was easy to replace. I have been very happy with this product and I use it all the time.

Look Elsewhere, This thing is no good
I bought this saw three years ago and have had nothing but problems since.

I also have a Jet tablesaw -- which I love -- that led to me purchasing this bandsaw.

For the money, this saw should come better built, better-equipped, and/or better-priced.

It lacks decent blade bearings -- so add to purchase price 0+ for Carter bearings. Also add the extension pack for resawing -- another -0, plus blades.
It lacks a blade de-tensioner, add another 0.

It does not come balanced and will shake like crazy, so add your time to balance the wheels.

The dust extraction is a joke and it has nothing to clean the dust off the bottom wheel as it is working -- add your time to resolve that.

The hardware that they use to get the blade tensioner is third-rate and I am replacing it for the third time.

All-in-all, I wish I had bought the Laguna -- my buddy has one for less than I sank into this machine and his is reliable.

The only positive note I have to add, is that when it is running nicely, after much tuning, it does work well -- but that doesn't seem to last too long a time.

Fantasic Bandsaw
I've been looking to buy a solid 14" bandsaw for my home shop. I did my home work checking out reviews both on the net as well as reading through the reviews written by Fine Woodworking Magazine a couple of years back. Having set my sights on a new Jet, I decided to look at the other saws once more before I dropped the cash and was very surprised by the upgrades Grizzly had added to their bandsaw since the review was written. I am so glad I did. I bought the new Grizzly G0555P (the "Polar Bear" model as it was at a lower introductory price and claimed to be exactly the same to the G0555 only in white. The features that sold me were the 1 hp motor, dual speeds, cast iron 14" table, the blade de-tensioning quick release for added blade life, and it came with a fence.

This saw arrived quickly via UPS Freight (ordered on Monday; arrived on Thursday)and the assembly was very straight forward. I had read reviews on other saws that had misaligned or unbalanced wheels and really resigned to myself that I'd have to fight these problem as well seeing that the saw was so inexpensive. Not true for my saw. It came very well packed and I was immediately impressed by its rugged cast iron frame. The bolts fitted together well and gave no hint of "softness" or thread inconsistency (as many Chinese tools do).I assembled the saw, did a very minor tracking adjustment and then fired her up. I was really expecting some bad vibration or some hidden flaw to start shaking but she just purred like a kitten. I couldn't believe it. This is one solid saw. I easily squared the table and adjusted the guides and then ran some 3/4 oak for a trial cut and she ate through them without any hesitation. I expect I'll see years and years of excellent service. If you're looking for the best value in a 14"-er, you can not go wrong with this saw! It lives up to its name: "The Ultimate 14" Bandsaw."

Great bandsaw for great price.
Having done my homework like everyone else, I found Grizzly's bandsaw to be the top choice. Like everyone else, I received an ideal saw. The blade that came with it, like everyone else said, was not the best, but when I replaced that, all was well. That blade made be good for different applications (it is a narrow blade, perhaps 5/16ths or less, and so good for tight curves.) I got the riser block, but have not installed it yet, as I had some pressing jobs to finish first. All in all, I give it five stars. I'm happy and making lots of sawdust.

great saw, but some problems along the way
I got a call from Saia (the freight company that grizzly uses) telling me that my order had arrived and they wanted to set up a time for delivery. Having read some of the other reviews and having received the email notice about how delivery was to be made (I didn't want to pay an extra for a truck with a tail gate lift) and as the Saia terminal wasn't very far from me I decided to go pick it up from the terminal.

Maybe Saia isn't any different from any other freight company, but the behaviour of the fork lift drivers I saw when I arrived at the terminal was shocking. An opinion only to be confirmed when my package was brought out to me with an entire corner of the box destroyed. The driver admitted hitting it with his fork lift on his first attempt to pick it up. So I had to refuse the order. I called grizzly and they sent me out a replacement.

To give Saia their dues, everyone I spoke to or interacted with was extremely polite and helpful. They let me come to the terminal later than they usually allow to pick up the replacement. This time the box was at least intact although it had been scraped and ripped. Grizzly tells you to write any damage you see down on the sheet you are given before you sign and I did this (MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS). It will really help you later if things don't turn out right.

So I took the second saw home and unpacked it and noticed that it had a couple of large scratches in the green paint exposing the cast iron. I also noticed that the underneath of the saw "feet" were badly scratched and covered in rust in some places. I wasn't too thrilled to see these things, but I figured they were just cosmetic and wouldn't affect the operation of the saw. I decided to test the saw mechanism before putting everything together, and It's a good thing I did. The tire on the top wheel was misaligned so that the blade wobbled as it tracked. I called grizzly and they said that they wanted to send me new tires, then I would have to cut off the old ones and heat up and put on the new ones (they said that the wheels would not have to be removed for this, but everywhere else I read about changing tires recommends this so as not to cause any damage to the mechanisms).

I wasn't too happy about having to do work on a brand new saw to make it right so I asked them if a could pack this one back up and get a replacement saw. A technician I talked to said it was going to be very unlikely for just a tire problem. I asked him if my expectations of having a working saw out of the box with no defects was too high and he actually said yes. I then called customer service and talked to a manager and after talking about the tire problem along with the scratches and rust he told me to take pictures of all these things and email them, but that it was ultimately the freight departments decision whether a replacement could be authorized and they probably wouldn't be able to let me know for another 24 hours. He asked me if I had noted any damage to the box on the bill of lading and I said yes and he said it was good that I had done that. I wasn't too thrilled with all this either but I took the pictures, emailed them and later in the day I was contacted and told a replacement was on hold pending getting the saw back to Saia.

When the second replacement finally arrived Grizzly had encased the cardboard box in a wooden frame, so that it was in extremely good condition. I got it home, gave it a once over and everything looked good. I assembled the saw and it is working great. Grizzly is certainly a company that cares about it's customers.

Do as Grizzly suggest and write down all the damage you see on your box!

Awesome saw for the money!
I have only had this saw for a few weeks, but already I am in love!

The initial set up only took about 1 hour (with a friend).

The provided blade works great on most soft and medium density woods. For hard woods such as rose wood, purple heart wood or ebony, a more aggresive blade and a slow hand are a must. It even cuts 16 ga stainless steel like butter (with a bi-metal blade).

I am extremely happy with this saw. Honestly, I don't know what I did before I purchased it!

Great saw horrible shipping and customer service.
While I love the saw, the shipping and customer service really set a poor foundation for the Grizzly name. When you pay for shipping one would expect it to be delivered to your door, not with Grizzly. You need to unload the package from the truck or opt for the warehouse pickup. Why would I opt for a warehouse pickup after paying +/- for delivery. Add on an additional to that and you can use the trucks lift gate to lower the item to the street.

great gift
got this for my dad for father's day. he loves it. he does a lot of handy work around the house and it's very convenient. despite being old school, he uses it.

A $$$ & Time Saving Tool...
We needed a tool that would measure in decimals, so I went online did some research, read the reviews and found the Bosch DLR165K Laser Distance Measuring Device. I found out that I could purchase through Amazon online and I am so very glad that I did! It works great, saves time, which we all know is money. Granted direct sunlight can be a little tricky, but hey you work through it! I would recommend this product to anyone!

I Will Never, EVER go Back to a Tape
I take as-built dimensions often and this laser measuring device paid for itself day one. At first I 'double-checked' the occasional dimension but it didn't take long to figure that was a waste of time!

The machine is accurate, has plenty of settings I haven't used yet (but don't get in the way) and has multiple points from which to measure (e.g. from the front, the rear, and from a little extension piece in the bottom, good for window frames).

You can actually feel this thing register a dimension. It's got a nice click/thump that you pick up over the noise of table saws, traffic, whatever. REALLY handy.

The biggest con is that there's no memory function for backing up a dimension or two as invariably happens. "Now what was the width across that bathroom?" Unfortunately you've gotta re-measure. Fortunately, a quick click and you're all done.

I highly recommend.

I recieved the Bosch laser measuing device rite away,from Amazon.com It's even better than I thought.I recomend any tradesman using a tape measure, should add this product to his tool box. And I recieved the best price from Amazon.com

Sometimes a tape measurer is easier.
Sometimes it isn't. This tool is great for taking measurements that normally would require a ladder to get. BUT it won't replace your tape measure any time soon. It is as accurate as advertised on the Bosch site. Very useful for the pipefitter.

Operational difficulties
Snake very ridged, so tough to maneuver. Difficult to keep the camera orientated upright and no facility to rotate the screen image, so difficult to make out what your seeing. The device isn't useless, and the insight into whether there is anything behind the bit of wall you're just about to cut through is invaluable. That said, there's some work to be done on the product design to make this piece of kit that bit more functional and user friendly.

Would be a good purchase if
I purchased this item for inside wall inspection. It arrived on time but was defective.I contacted the vendor and arranged for return.
I returned the inspection camera and am waiting for a refund.

ARRIVED DAMAGED
The camera I received was previously opened and used. There was a large deep scratch on the end of the cable where the camera resides. I have no idea how it works as I immediatly returned it. I needed to use it right away and now will have to wait for a replacement. I don't understand why some vendors think it's OK to send a returned item to someone else and call it new.

Worth every penny and then some! Great device.
I have used this scope several times now to inspect inside cars and other ares. It works great! The scope is not the thinnest one out there so if this size works for you it is great. Clear picture and good zoom. The newer model would be even better for some extra coin.

If you need a scope that will fit in holes smaller than about 3/4", get a scope with a smaller end.

Milwaukee Inspection Camera
I purchased this to check part numbers and to check electrical connectors behind the instrument panel of a vehicle, etc. The length of the lens assy. and the stiffness of the flexible shaft are such that, in most situations, it cannot be done. I have found very few instances where it was useable. I would not recommend this product for most uses.

Not bad for the price
I'll get it out of the way first: these tools feel cheap. However, I need to do this review in the context of what you're paying for, and for the price this is a good tool kit. It has a ton of tools that get the job done. In particular, I've used the level and screwdriver (it has a ridiculous number of heads) as well as the plyers a fair bit.

These tools obviously aren't for professional carpenters, but even if you just have a big job (building a deck, etc.) you probably need to spend a bit more. But if you just need some tools for everyday jobs around the house, this is a all you really need.

Better than Expected. I'm buying a second!
Better than Expected. I'm buying a second! Not sure how these tools will hold up over the long haul but everything appears to be rock solid. But I'm no tool enthusiast. I only need them for the occasional use/erection of my own super-sized beer bong with a beer slide and giant doughboy pool full of beer. The price...well...it speaks for itself. I've bought cheap tools before and these aren't cheap. Not saying they're Mercedes-Benz-immaculate but they're around a nice Ford Fusion. Usually you get what you pay for in life. I would say in this particular case, you get a bit of bargain. A little more than what you're paying for. Maybe a lot more pending on how they hold up over the years. Rust will tell. I will be purchasing a second set for my pops no doubt.

tool kit
Awesome tool kit, it has pretty much everything you'll need for simple installations etc. Great price for what you get. However, some of the bits are duplicates, so I was wondering if it was this way in case some of them get lost, or if it was because that increases the number of pieces in the tool kit to make it seem bigger. There are no problems regarding the usage of any of the items in the kit, so I am overall happy with this purchase.

Great toolkit. MUST HAVE!
If you know anyone moving out for their first time, having this in an apartment (with a drill!) is an excellent gift/purchase. This thing has everything! Very handy. The leveler was a nice addition as well (Though I would get a laser leveler if possible).

Would recommend for anyone.

More than I needed but price made it worth it
The bag is heavy duty, but you kind of have to dig around to find the tool you want. I thought the bits were of poor quality, but that's an easy fix I just went and got new ones at home depot. I would recommend this set for anyone who needs a set of tools for around the house. I was worried when I ordered this that the quality would be poor because they were so cheap. I was surprised with the quality and have been using the tools around the house. My only complaint is I'd much rather have a tool box come with it than a bag.

Gift for Dad
I bought this as a gift for dad. He loved it. He collects knives and this was a great addition for him. Was very pleased with the speed of shipment.

Awesome Multi-Tool.... Highly Recommend!
Tool is lighter than most multi-tools. I use this tool almost everyday. It comes in handy when fixing computers or racking servers. This tool comes in handy when opening various types of boxes and keeping zombies off you or your co-worker.

Sturdy, well-made multi-tool
The Gerber 01471 Multi-Tool has all the essential tools that I need for quick daily tasks that don't require the big toolbox. It is well made, solid, using high quality steel for blade and tools. It is certainly not designed for small hands, in particular the pliers - that's exactly why I bought it. The screwdrivers, both blade and Philips, are constructed of high quality steel and have already held up to some heavy jobs. One of the decisive reasons for my purchase was Gerber's blade and tool lock mechanism - it works and makes this tool much safer than others in my arsenal. Highly recommended, in particular for the sale price. I am thinking about buying a few more as gifts for my handy relatives - the ones with big hands :)

Go for a Leatherman
I bought a Gerber Suspension at Walmart on clearance for .00 and that was too much for the tool. The wire cutters are worthless and dull. I couldn't even cut bailing wire. Incredibly heavy.... Handles are awkward and spring loaded, when you squeeze on the pliers you have a spring fighting against you and they want to open right back up. The tool is also made in china so who knows how reliable the workmanship is. Get yourself a leatherman.

Good looking product and a good price.
Just bought this a few days ago. I was looking for a decent priced solid multi tool. Despite what some other reviewers said, it was delivered and looks fantastic. Its clean, no defects that I was able to notice. Everything works including the scissors. An A+ multi tool for 26 dollars, and its gerber, can't complain about that. I recommend this if your price range is about 30 dollars.
